The goal of the Big Shell Island, Kinzie Cove and Shell Point aquaculture area, referred to as "The Harbourage" in conjuction with "The Keohane School 0f Marine & Environmental Studies, Inc." in an educational day camp setting, is a project to teach, enlighten, study, improve and comprehend our marine environmental system in which all life is interdependent, both plant and animal, from very large to microbe size. Our staff, including some Iraq veterans, will seek to develop the creative, inquisitive mind rather than the informative mind found with the cloud theory being developed by my daughter at IBM. Our young campers will make discoveries and will be asked to transfer their thoughts to other young campers in a relaxed camping environment using the Dewey and Felder educational methods. This is my engineering way of teaching, Edward L. Keohane PE, Director. My wife of 53 years has asked me to not use one of the Gagne' methods, of talking loud to emphasize a point.
CONCEPT DESIGN FEASIBILITY
This general concept design is being done to determine the feasibility and/or to set limits which will be used to determined the viability of "The Harbourage" project.
The project is a non-profit endeavor, however it must provide desired and needed community services which can generated fees, income and or grants monies to cover the day to day operational cost and to establish a cash flow to cover the cost of any infrastructure, constructions and/or site development that may be needed.
